About Toshiba medical

hank you for using our products and services. I hope this message finds you well.

In the six months since Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation (TMSC) left the Toshiba Group, we have been receiving a lot of inquiries from various quarters about the progress of integration with Canon. TMSC will become a subsidiary of Canon after Canon obtains clearance from the antitrust authorities of countries in our major markets. We confirm that the review has been proceeding smoothly.

In order to maximize the synergistic effects of integration with Canon, we have established an internal project team to prepare for integration, and are currently working hard to ensure that we are able to cope with various contingencies.

While steadily preparing for integration with Canon, we have also been aggressively pursuing new innovations based on our advanced technologies, strong sales performance, and high-quality services in order to provide solutions for various healthcare issues under our slogan "Made for Life™". As a result, we have been able to release many products with dramatically improved performance in our lineup of high-end models. Examples are a next-generation 320-row area-detector CT system Aquilion ONE™/GENESIS Edition, premium diagnostic ultrasound systems in the Aplio™ i series, and a next-generation 3-tesla MRI system Vantage Galan™ 3T.

The approach described above cannot be implemented by Toshiba Medical alone. Specifically, it is very important for us to closely collaborate with medical institutions under a framework of industry-academia-government cooperation. In the past, TMSC has been implementing research and development in collaboration with many medical institutions around the world. A few days ago, we concluded a framework agreement with the National Cerebral and Cardiovascular Center in Japan, which has been addressing the world's top-level healthcare and research activities, on the premise of long-term cooperation and collaboration between both parties. The aim is to combat cardiovascular diseases in order to expand healthy life expectancy in Japan (which has become a super-aged society ahead of other countries in the world) and thus contribute to achieving healthy lives for Japanese people. In this way, we are strongly expressing our commitment to continuously contribute to the development of healthcare globally.

We will further improve our corporate value in order to earn the trust of all our stakeholders, including our customers, promote further growth together with them, and contribute to society through healthcare under our philosophy "Made
